    Re: Which mp3 player cell???

    i was just looking at the rokr specs and it says it comes with 512mb removable memory.

    So would that mean that if i put in a 1gb or 2gb in would that change the 100 itune songs to about 200 or 400 itune songs??? because that is what would make sence

    Re: Which mp3 player cell???

    Drew,

    If you get a Razr you want the Motorola RAZR V3m....the "m" version allows you to add a MicoSD (NOT MiniSD) memory card, upto 1GB. The MicroSD cards are about $50 to $60 for 1GB.

    And as I understand it the "m" replaces the "c" and other earlier versions and fix most of the complaints too (besides adding the flash memory card slot).

    I just got my Motorola RAZR V3m a week or two ago....see my other post here about trying to get the MP3 audio out of the phone...

    Another phone I hear is nice is the LG VX8300. It too has a MicroSD slot AND MP3 player controls on the outside of the phone I believe. And a 1.3meg camera.

    I have not yet bought a MicroSD card for my phone or used it so I cannot say one way or the other how good the "m"s MP3 player is....

    Does anyone know if the V3m can play MP3's from the MicroSD card? They don't have to be copied to the V3m's internal memory first? (I know, that would be really dumb. But I wouldn't put it past Moto)

    Jeff

    Re: Which mp3 player cell???

    And you might want to see if the V3m can play AAC format songs downloaded from iTunes. I doubt very much it (or any non-iTunes/iPod phone) can until Apple allows it.

    oh and just a FYI; I believe I read in the manual or somewhere the Razr has that "super-fast" USB 1.1......do these guys sit around and think "gee, how else can we cripple this phone?". Try and upload 100MB of MP3 audio (let alone 1GB!) with USB 1.1!! Well, at least the MicroSD card is removable (after you shut down the phone and pull the battery out)

    And one other note; if you and the person you are talking to both have Razrs and both have the speaker phone on the echo feedback of what you say is HORRIBLE! And the audio sounds tinny like they are talking though a tin can when they talk. And the audio level aint that great...like you want to kick it up just one more notch, but can't.

    The speaker phone on my Motorola i730 SUCKED too! That thing would consistantly cut the words of the person you were talking to in half. Unreal. What is it with Moto and speaker phones now? My Moto i1000Plus had a GREAT speaker phone....loud, clear, no chopped words.....why can't Moto improve the sound quality of there phones? Or at least not get worse from last years models? I guess now that cell phones are designed to be replaced every two years no one gives a crap about actual audio quality. Say what you want about Ma'Bell....but at least when you picked up the freak'en phone you could have a conversation with someone and clearly understand what they said....and the phones were near indestructable.....

    This is probably my last Motorola cell phone...

    @maggot,
    I like my i870 for all the items you've listed, don't forget bluetooth.
    cons: I use the 1gb card and have +200 tracks, takes a long time to load each time u use the player.
    Pros: Don't mind load time (3 minutes), sound is great, don't use my old Mp3 player anymore.

    Re: Which mp3 player cell???

    camstuf, you mean it takes 3 min to open the MP3 player????? Why does it take so long? Does it copy the song to the phones internal memory?

    Can you even play a 100+MB size file? I record Howard Stern everyday using AudioHiJack Pro. One of the reasons I went for the Razr was because I wanted a (cell phone) MP3 player with removeable flash card.

    But if it can't play my Howard files screw that......I won't waste the $55 bucks on a MicroSD card. I'll put the money towards a REAL MP3 player.

    I am getting to dislike this Razr more and more everyday!

    I didn't even mention how hard it is to read the letters/numbers on the keypad in daylight (or even office light). Wow. Readable keys. What a concept.

    @jeffNY,
    3 min cause +200 songs, don't know why. I can play a full length movie in 3pg format no problem. I'll have to try a long ass Mp3 and let ya know.

    Re: Which mp3 player cell???

    if u want an mp3 phone

    i gues the slvr would be best out of all the choices u listed

    depending on your budget is really what limits you

    the sony ericsson has a great mp3 playing interface user-friendly and itsa name everyone knows and loves...

    walkman!

    the w series

    w900i is top of the line i think, then theres the w810, w800 and of course the simplest of all the w600i is what cingular offers

    i think that is best for an mp3/phone

    though my treo is pretty cool
