ht820 headphones don't work with slvr l7

So I just got my new Slvr L7 and I went out and bought the HT820 BT headphones so I could lisen to music and take calls wirelessly. I go to pair them and only the phone part works. I read throughout the manule of both products and I couldn't figure it out. So I call motorola and the guy says "The Slvr does not have the profile support for the HT820 music mode" and then he says that the phone does not support any wireless headphones for music only for talking on the phone.

So I don't get how they make a new product that has itunes and is ment to also be a mp3 player and it doesn't support wireless headphones? It doesn't even come with a head phone jack. Its the worst design ever made IMO.

Is there some sort of hack or work around so I can get these headphones to work with my phone? I almost cannot belease motorola would make a phone like this that doesn't support them.

When you purchased your SLVR you should has received a standard head phone jack extention as well as a pair of headphones/handsfree set, and I myself also use a car adapter tape deck so I can play my mp3's on my car stereo (don't get excited you can't make calls and expect them to hear you although you can hear them) I imagine there is some hack out there that will enable these headphones but at what cost?

Re: ht820 headphones don't work with slvr l7

well ya I can used wired ones. But using wireless headphones with my phone was what I wanted and I sorta expected it to work. It is my fault for not doing research but I would have thought the amount of research I did on this phone would have mentioned that it doesn't work with BT headphones.

I really would like to know of any hacks/workarounds that could get these things working I have done about 2 hours of googling now and I can't seem to find anything.

Your best bet would be to try motomodders or vxxxstuff, and it seems like they leave out the most curcial (sp) info like that it ONLY allows 100 songs and no more and keep in mind that hacking your phone voids your warranty

unfortunately, the motorola L7 isn't A2DP compatible. you need A2DP-compatibility to be able to listen to music through a bluetooth device. otherwise, you can only use bluetooth headsets for talking.

here is a link to a list of A2DP compatible devices: A2DP devices

hope that helps. :-(

Re: ht820 headphones don't work with slvr l7

I had the same problem, I went through alot of hassle getting bluetooth wireless headphones and got the slvr specifically to use as an MP3 player with wireless headphones. I spent two hours searching the internet and the device manuel and then called the helpfull indian outsourced individuals at Motorola and they basically said im F#cked, and that they didnt feel a $300 was worthy of A2DP tech and that they would be happy to sell me a Q series phone for upwards of $800 that would have A2DP and would work fine. I had a few explitives to add to that comment and hung up. So now you and me both have the most expensive, and cumbersome piece of bluetooth calling tech you can get. Yeah us! I love getting screwed over. Their is one thing you can do to try and get some use out of it. What I did was go online and get a bluetooth USB dongle with the software for A2dp, (bluesoil is what I got) and install that on your comp and/or laptop. with it you can listen to music and video wirelessly with your headphones from your comp and laptop, good for plane trips with a dvd drive and car trips. other then that keep in mind that the guy who coined the phrase "let the buyer beware" was probably bleeding from the a**hole. enjoy.
