Mobile phone tools with new L7?

Hope somebody can help...just got a new L7 and mobile phone tools 3.4 doesn't seem to recognize the phone. I switched the connection to data/fax but when I plug it in it takes awhile like it's installing the phone and then it tells me that it won't work correctly without a mobile device? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!

Nevermind, I read around and I now realize I got some stripped down version that I can only assume isn't the real deal. I'm up and running.
