Motorola Phone Tools, No Multimedia?

I just installed Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 (Updated to 4.2.1a) for my Razr V3M. Everything installed good, but when I use the interface I have no icon for Multimedia? Any ideas?

If you had done a search of the forums, you would have found over 20 threads that answer this question.

You have Verizon Wireless, and they have disabled OBEX, the feature that allows you to connect to MPT. At this time, there is no fix, other than to edit the seem. for that information, you will need to search the forums.

Re: Motorola Phone Tools, No Multimedia?

Sorry about the post, I did search but everything was coming up V3C, didn't relize it pertained to the V3M. Anyway, I got the seem edited and now my Multimedia works with MPT. Why doesn't the RAZR have a menu for your MP3's / ringtones?

Again, disabled by Verizon Wireless.

Enable Multimedia on v3C

Found this somewhere see if it works

Here is a more concise and easier to follow set of instructions to enable the Multimedia Studio button in MPT for the Razr V3c.

You need to first make sure you are updated MPT as far as you can go. Connect the phone and launch MPT. When connected Then click on "Menu", go to "General Setup" and click the "Communications" tab. Click "Change Modem" and follow the instructions. When you get to the "detect driver" screen, put a check mark in the box next to "Do not automatically detect driver. Select from list." and click "Next".

Choose "Motorola CDMA" and scroll the list until you see "V3cm". Select this phone and click "Next". Then, simply click "Finish" and it will reload MPT. Your phone will be recognized and you will have access to the "Multimedia Studio" options.

That should resolve your MPT issues. Please note: this fix may only make the button show up on your MPT interface. It will not make the button work if you have firmware version .03 or higher.

Good luck.

Re: Motorola Phone Tools, No Multimedia?

adnan, when it cant find phone, just manually install any moto gsm model. after it doesnt find it you will get a generic phone not connected. push menu/ settings/ update.

You found that information posted in these forums in about 20 other threads. This workaround will only work with Verizon V3c firmware version .02, no other versions are capable of working with MPT at this time. Also, please note that this thread is specifically asking about MPT and the V3m, not the V3c. That was ny mistake as well.

Uninstall MPT and reinstall it. You should not have any problem getting it to Live Update, all the way to 4.21a.

Hey body please try to post your question in the right place this a threat about MOTOROLA PHONE TOOLS

But anyway here is your answer I think:
It looks to me like you delete the Moto Skin Folder if you did that I hope that some where in your PC you have your backup of these files if not then try to find them or Flash it
