I am looking to get a v3i Razr and I am with Cingular. I found some "unlocked" versions on ebay for some great deals. When I contacted Cingular, they said that the text messeging and internet might not work on these 3rd party phone. I currently have an older Motorola phone with a sim card so do I just transfer the card to the new phone? Can anyone help, will it all work (internet/text messeging) or should I just get a phone straight from cingular?

If the phone isn't Cingular branded, then you'll need to configure the Media Net and MMS settings so that internet and messaging will work. You can do it here: https://onlinecare.cingular.com/supp...gular&make=All

...and yes, all you'll need to do is swap the sim into the new phone. Remember, if you purchase outside from Cingular you will not be able get insurance on it.

I went to that and it has the menu for the Motorola V3. Will that be the same as the V3i? They dont have the choice of V3i on the menu.

Yes, the V3 settings should work with the V3i.

the settings for the v3 will work, but the menu layout is a little different between the 2 model. easiest way is to choose the slvr as the phone model.
