#2 | | Phone Addict | how are you trying to update it?
I would download the new one....then go remove the old one from your control panel before trying to install the new one. | | |

#4 | | I hate spammers! | You should be able to use live update to get to version 4.21a with no problem. I started with 3.23 myself, and after about 6 runs of live update, I have the latest version. If you can't get live update to run properly, try uninstalling the software and reinstalling MPT 3.23 using this link. Once it is installed, run live update as instructed above.

Click on menu, then setup, you will see liveupdate or update in the dropdown.

Only Verizon V3c's with frimware version .02 can automatically connect using MPT. You can accomplish the connection with a simple seem edit or a complete firmware downgrade to version .02, but neither should be tackled without caution and thorough preparation. You can find tutorials in this forum using the search function.

Click on "Menu", go to "General Setup" and click the "Communications" tab. Click "Change Modem" and follow the instructions. When you get to the "detect driver" screen, put a check mark in the box next to "Do not automatically detect driver. Select from list." and click "Next".
Choose "Motorola CDMA" and scroll the list until you see "V3cm". Select this phone and click "Next". Then, simply click "Finish" and it will reload MPT. Your phone will be recognized and you will have access to the "Multimedia Studio" options.
That should resolve your MPT issues. Please note: this fix may only make the button show up on your MPT interface. It will not make the button work if you have firmware version .03 or higher and have not edited the proper seems.
Good luck!
