MPT Help

Not sure if this is where I should be posting this but I was wondering if anyone could explain to me why I can't update my version of MPT? I have version 3.23.

Re: MPT Help

how are you trying to update it?
I would download the new one....then go remove the old one from your control panel before trying to install the new one.

Re: MPT Help

You should be able to use live update to get to version 4.21a with no problem. I started with 3.23 myself, and after about 6 runs of live update, I have the latest version. If you can't get live update to run properly, try uninstalling the software and reinstalling MPT 3.23 using this link. Once it is installed, run live update as instructed above.

It is in the menu of the actual MPT software. Click on menu, then setup, you will see liveupdate or update in the dropdown.

Not if you have a V3c from Verizon running firmware version .03 or .04 currently. Only Verizon V3c's with frimware version .02 can automatically connect using MPT. You can accomplish the connection with a simple seem edit or a complete firmware downgrade to version .02, but neither should be tackled without caution and thorough preparation. You can find tutorials in this forum using the search function.

This is what you need to do to make the Verizon V3c work with MPT. Click on "Menu", go to "General Setup" and click the "Communications" tab. Click "Change Modem" and follow the instructions. When you get to the "detect driver" screen, put a check mark in the box next to "Do not automatically detect driver. Select from list." and click "Next".

Choose "Motorola CDMA" and scroll the list until you see "V3cm". Select this phone and click "Next". Then, simply click "Finish" and it will reload MPT. Your phone will be recognized and you will have access to the "Multimedia Studio" options.

That should resolve your MPT issues. Please note: this fix may only make the button show up on your MPT interface. It will not make the button work if you have firmware version .03 or higher and have not edited the proper seems.

Good luck!
