How do I add a video to my SLVR?

I just got the SLVR L7 and have figured out most everything except how to add videos. I see the "videos" folder when my phone pops up as an external drive, but when I place the videos in there I can never find them on the phone. I heard they had to be in 3gp format, so I did that but still no luck. Anybody have some advice? Also its a very tiny clip...only about 2 MB

Check the manual to see which folder the videos have to be. I had a similar problem with MP3.
Or just record a video using your phone and see (using MPT) where the new video is stored and in what format.

do I need MPT,

No, just switch to memory in your connection menu, and your phone will be considered a usb device by XP or other OS.

You can just install the standard drivers from wherever, and transfer the video to the VIDEO folder in your memory card

Enjoy.

Re: How do I add a video to my SLVR?

It just isnt working for me for some reason. It is set up under connections as memory. When I plug it in Itunes opens and I go to My Computer, open the Phone where its listed as a USB storage device, I add the video or midi I want to the video or ringtone folders, but when I go to my phone nothing is there. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Check whether you connectivity settings has a 'USB settings' and in that it should be set to 'Memory Card'. I think this is needed to access the memory card by default.

Try capturing a video using the phone. You will see it is then stored in the 'video' folder in the memory card and the file will have extension of '.3gp'

I have MP3 songs and they are stored in the 'audio' folder.

Other than that I can think you memory card may not be formatted. The phone should do this the first time you put it in. Check whether you have folder and sub folders. I have a top level of 'mobile' and under that are all the other folders.

I am just completely baffled by this...I went to "USB settings" and set that to "Memory Card". I captured a video and it shows up on my phone for playback, but when I look in the "video" folder it is not there. Actaully, when I look in any of the folders under the main "Mobile" folder, there is nothing.

Well mid post I figured something out....in the videos section of my actual phone if i push the menu button I can switch from "phone" to "Memory Card" storage. (this isnt under connections though...different thing). So I will try this and see if when I put the video on the phone it shows up under the "memory card" storage tab.....this probably shouldve been the first thing for me to try, but I am new so oh well. I will reply with the results

Re: How do I add a video to my SLVR?

What is this 'other place' you are referring to? Please educate me. The only other thing that I can do is to go to phone status and there I can see storage devices, but nothing that allows me to set default. Here I can format and rename the card.

Using the 'Connectivity' menu was the only place I was able to set the usb connectivity to the memory card.

Maybe you are referring to Multimedia, then that is the place where you can switch back and forth between phone storage and card. But this does not set default.

Re: How do I add a video to my SLVR?

Yes its it is in the 'Multimedia' area. I believe on the phone it is called "My Stuff" or something similar to that. It is in there under either sounds, videos, or pictures where I can push the menu key and change from phone storage to my card storage. I don't know how to set one or the other as default, but it solved the problem I was having (finding the videos that I put on my phone).

My phone was already set to "memory card" under the usb tab of "connectivity" so I never changed anything there. I never touched phone status either. Thanks for all of your help and hopefully what I said makes sense.
