Motorolla Pay As You Go

Hi, I am planning on obtaining a new cell phone this summer without entangling myself in the usual monthly plans and well plans in general...

Which is why I think a Pay as You Go phone would fit me perfectly. Yet I would like a nice looking Pay as You Go phone and not a brick. So my question is, do Motorolla Razr phones support Pay as You Go Sim cards?

Also if so, do I have to look for a specific carrier such as T-Mobile? Or does it not matter because I would use a Sim card? As you can tell I'm a bit new to this. Thanks in advance.

Ok, to make my question more specific--do I have to purchase a special "T-Mobile To Go" Razr V3 or can it be a regular one, so I can use prepaid SIM cards? Thanks...

Re: Motorolla Pay As You Go

I have an unlocked Cingular Razor V3. I tried using a Tracfone sim card in it but it will only work for emergency calls. Apparently Tracfone sim cards only work if your phone has airtank S/W for redeeming and counting down minutes. I wish there was a flash for this.

I don't think t-mobile does the same thing but I'm wondering how you can recharge the sim if not. Have you tried contacting t-mobile? I might be interested in a prepaid sim myself but I'm leery of buying one over the net. Do you know if they are retailed in any stores?

I have a Moto PEBL phone, and it works great with my Rogers Pay As You Go account. I just activated it on a regular Rogers SIM card purchased from eBay.

I don't suggest you to buy a SIM card on e-bay. First be sure that under your RAZR battery there's a place to put a SIM card. You can find SIM card everywhere, like at Rogers, Fido, The Source, Circuit City etc. When you bought a SIM card, there's a number at the back of that card. After, you gotta go buy antenna cards(you can find everywhere(Walt-mart)). Then you use your home phone to call the compagny of the SIM card that you bought and they will ask you to give them the unactivated SIM card number. They'll activate the SIM card for you.

I hope answered your questions

btw: If you choose Rogers, do NOT have the Voice mail function. It is really not usefull and it will cost 33cents when you didn't get the incoming call like in 5 seconds-.-

Re: Motorolla Pay As You Go

Be warned, I have a T-Mobile "Pay-As-You-Go" account and it is full of hidden charges. Every day, they deduct about $1 daily from my prepaid account. Even on days that I don't use the phone, my balance dwindles. I am also charged over $1, even for local calls to another T-Mobile phone. T-Mobile even charged me today when they sent me a text message giving me my PIN number. I thought correspondences were free. They charge for everything; you will be buying pre-paid cards every week!
