v3, v3i, v3x?

okay im confused... im looking to buy a razr with picture id, good camera, plays mp3s, and can use mp3's as ringtones.

whats the whole deal with itunes on the phone? is the advantage to be able to connect to itunes and by songs on the go and listen to them on your phone?

I heard that the itunes version does not let you use mp3s as ringtones. And i also heard that it also limits you to 100 songs.

So, is it just me or should I get the v3i without itunes? (still diff than the orig version v3, because better camera)

And does the V3 play mp3s at all? Use mp3 as ringtones?

As you probably know, there are a few Razr models overseas that aren't supported by any carriers here. Still, they can probably be configured to a US carrier's wap and sms settings if you know the right people (check our motorola forum and look for posts by the mods there!). I found a site where you can check the models of interest (even the international models) and compare them side-by-side but their site is in frames and I can't post a direct link. Halfway down this page, the Razr models begin, check the ones you like and click compare for a side-by-side features comparison.

As far as your ringtone question... hmm, try searching the ringtones forum for RAZR or searching the motorola forum for RAZR RINGTONES that might find some answers...

edit: actually the site i linked you to has user reviews and several people commented on making their own ringtones with the v3... i think that answers that question.

V3i w/itunes vs. V3i without itunes.

I read on ebay auctions that itunes restricts song count to 100, and doesnt let you use those mp3's for ringtones. The only advantage is you can buy songs via accessing itunes on the go.

I also read that on the non itunes version you can have unlimited mp3's with the motorolla mp3 player; and use the songs as ringtones if you want. And it has more internal memory because itunes isnt on it?

Is this stuff accurate or am I confused somewhere?

If you are looking to buy a Razr and use it in US then I would suggest that you should go with V3i. The reason I recommend V3i over V3 and V3x is the price of V3 and V3i is almost the same but V3i comes with megapixel and external memory slot. Keep in mind there are two different version of V3i with and without Itunes. V3i is cheaper than V3x. V3x is 2 megapixel vs V3i 1.3 megapixel. V3x is bulker than V3i and at this time The 3G of V3x is basically usless in US. So you will be paying extra for something you will not be able to use.
