Moto KRZR K1m to Replace CDMA RAZR Soon!

The Motorola KRZR is on the horizon. Just yesterday a guide was spotted on Verizon's test site. The phone features dual-band CDMA, EV-DO support, clamshell form-factor, EV-DO, 65k color 176x220 pixel display, 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD cards slot, and Bluetooth connectivity. It looks like Verizon will release the phone at $199.99 with a two year contract.

Does anyone have this phone yet and if so what do you think. I was just wondering before getting one and was hoping someone would have some feedback as to whether or nt it would be worth it to switch from my razr.

I am confused... are you saying that you can buy the KRZR unlocked and use it on a GSM network? In what universe? Did the sun suddenly fall from the sky and change the gravitational forces? How exactly do you unlock a CDMA phone? Then, just for sake of argument, how in the name of GOD could you get that CDMA phone to work on a GSM network?

I hope that this was just a misinterpretation or your post, or that you just didn't complete your thought.

As for tstang90, don't waste any time looking for an unlocked KRZR, they simply don't exist in this universe. Also, it is not likely that this phone will be available for GSM networks in the near future or anytime for that matter.

It just came out in stores today, so if anybody did buy it, unless they ordered it from the VZW website, they probably haven't had much time to play with it.

Personally, I "fondled" it today, and it is pretty nice. The sound quality is very tinny when you hold it in your hand, but put it down on a hard surface, and it is really quite good. The touch sensitive music controls on the front are pretty cool, very much like the buttons on the Chocolate. I am not sure about the overall form factor, but I would say it is a pretty nice looking phone.

Re: Moto KRZR K1m to Replace CDMA RAZR Soon!

paulcman....first GSM KRZR's have been out for a LONG time in other parts of the world, notably europe. Actually only yesterday at work did i hear they made a cdma version for verizon. but verizon's krzr is grayish and the gsm one coming out for cingular should be a blue-ish. But ya if you get a krzr from europe, they will be gsm.

On your first point, you are correct... I should have specified the KRZR K1m in my post. However, I believe that you are incorrect about the KRZR being released "for a LONG time" in other parts of the world. According to Motorola's own website (and every other reference I could find), the K1 was just released in September of this year.

As for color, the Verizon KRZR that came to us, has a blue tone. I have seen the pictures on the Internet of the grey KRZR, but that is most definitely not what came to my store.

I was excited about the release of this phone. It is definitely a sharp piece with a lot of bells and whistles. Too pricey at this point. I hope by the time my contract is finished the price will have come down.

Give it a couple of months... just like the RAZR V3c (I'm still a little bitter about buying it at full price... but that is my own fault).

I just got this phone, and havent had much time to use it. Some of the buttons are too close together, even for my small hands. The interface is nice, and the overall look of it is modern. The touch screen buttons for the music is a nice touch as well. Receptions not the greatest, but has worked decent so far. All in all its a nice feeling phone, with good construction.
