prepaid to plan!? (HELP ASAP!!!)

I want to buy a RAZR (Motorola RAZR V3i (Unlocked), #V3i_US - MobilePlanet Inc.)

but for now, i can only buy prepaid!!! in the future (around a year) can i make the phone have a plan?

Well, i think because number portability is here for some an coming for the rest within a year in north america, i would say its no problem at all.

I hesitate as if it stayed the way it is now, you may be not able to port a pay an go number to a pcs or mike or gsm line without some headache or flat out not being able to as the numbers i understand come from number pools in each carrier that has some in pay an go an some in contract and not easily switched between.

But now that number portability is here an coming, in a years time it shoould be as easy as pie, and couple hours later your on a plan with the same number.

Bare in mind, you will probably want a new phone by then anyways an will take one a rebated on contract if you wish to go on one, or by month to month which most i bet will do untill the dust is settled.
