I dont think u need any software for this. U do need a micro sd card or transflash I believe. Then u just drag the images or mp3 into the apropiate folders, via a card reader. The micro sd card should come with a converter case that allows u to insert the micro sd into a regular sd card slot to insert in most card readers.

This is only true with the SLVR the V3i and other moto's that have sd cards but as they have several mpt is a standby if they don't have sd cards.

Is there any way to get this MPT's latest version for free, or am I dreaming? I wonder why this software doesn't just come with the phone.

Cuz Motorola wants to milk even more money from you, lol. But if you search, you should be able to yield a free copy of it...

You aren't alone. that is why there are numerous DL links for free MPT installers. As for the "latest versions" of MPT, just DL whatever version you can, and use Live Updater (you may need to do this several times before it is fully updated, as you can only update 1 version at a time).

its a way of getting money. i bought an ipod nano a while back, it came with a usb cable and some crap case and im surprised they decided to add earbuds for the price. u have to buy everything else, the radio, mostly everything else while any other mp3 has it built in. with motorola, they somehow blocked the phone from showing on the computers drive list, making you pay to access this function. im sure a motorola formatted transflash card would not let you access it onthe list.

i cant find mpt on the net, can i download on limewire? is there a way to tell if it is real b4 i download it becus my friend downloaded a virus thinking it was halo 2 from limewire. any direct links for mpt free please post

have you tried this, we are debating getting tf cards or not, if u have tried this, did it show in a drive in "my computer" when u put in the card reader?

i installed the mpt thing and tried it on 2 computers already. it said that i have to coneect the phone in the setup thing, i connected it the thing started working then when it finished it said that there was no phone, on boh computers, and with 3 different phones. nothing worked. on v3.25 i beleive. is v3.25 have a bug or something?

I got the mpt program, and updated it several times. It only updated once to something like 4.0 or higher. My phone doesn't get detected for some reason. I don't know what I'm doing wrong either. I bought the micro sd 1g card, and transfered the movie and music files using .3gp and .mp3, and that worked. The card shows up as drive "I" on my pc. Also the card enables u to save video and pictures to the card, so u dont take up your phone memory. I dont think u can transfer ringtones through the card, but I'm not sure.

On a sidenote, I've put my favorite tv programs (30min) on my phone using ati's tv tuner for my pc, and the ati program, can output the file as an avi, which can be converted to .3gp easily. Now I just have to resist watching tv at work I'm also attemping to put dvd movies on here, if not just around 30 minutes worth, but I havent tested the limitation of the file size yet. I've even used a firefox plugin to save .flv files from u tube and google video and convert them with a freeware program to mp4. This phones great! I'll never be bored again hehe. I was always waiting to buy a media player, but with this phone, I can do the same thing, just not with the same screen size. I was hesitant at first and didn't think any of this would work, but I'm impressed..
