    I want to buy a RAZR V3I...but for now, I can only do prepaid. Can I get a prepaid card [unlocked phone] and then change it to a plan? Or will it always be prepaid.

    That sim card will always be prepaid. Now you could change the phone over to contract with the same service and get a new sim card.

    call your service provider to do that..... you will have to pass a credit check.....
