Adding music to a PEBL

I want to put some songs on my unlocked PEBL - got it hooked up to my computer and am managing to move the MP3 files to the phone without any problem, but when I try to listen to them they show up corrupted. Strange thing is it worked for two songs, but the rest ain't working.

The songs came from all over. Don't know a lot about this stuff - is there a special setting I should be using when I convert my songs to MP3s?? Appreciate any help...
