krzr software update needed!! help

i just got the krzr and it only supports motorola phone tools version 4.3 or higher. the problem is..i can not find that version anywhere. not even motorola. this is the only program that will custimize this phone. the current 4.0 will not reconize the phone. any suggestions?

Is this a true motorola KRZR or a carrier version?

ok it is now 5 in the morning and i have downloaded a ton of crap and still have not gotten anywhere!!! here is what i have learned. i know how to cut music down into a ringtone..can not get it on the phone. i have tried to use my sd card and i can not save it in the audio file. i can not email attchements to the phone only messages. how can i email music and pix to the damn phone? people have also said put it on the card its that easy...not!

a carrier versions is one that a carrier, ie verizon, cingular, t-mobile has purchased from motorola and it is locked up tighter then a lawyers ass.

so is ity one you purchased from motorola or is it one you got from verizon, or another carrier?

because MPT's does not work with verizon version. You have to buy the music essentials kit if you want mp3s on your phone and you need to either find a free site for making ringtones with a long long wait to get them or go get a ringtone maker either online or at a local retailer.

What carrier do you have?

i have suncom and it is unlocked. so it is not a carrier phone.

ok forget the software..according to moto rep it will be av in about a month. i have had no luck on limewire or bearshare. i have figured out how to put stuff on my sd card..but how do i get in out of my mp3 player into a ringtone or wall paper? i can not find an option to do that.

you cannot make an mp3 a ringtone...not full length anyhow, it has to be cut down into 30 second parts. KRAZR will only use 30 second mp3 parts as ringtones. I bought ringtone maker 2.0 and it works fine, i use my own mp3s to make ringtones, save them to my PC then email them to my phone...works like a champ. wallpaper....any pic, resize and email.
