Need Major Cingular SLVR Help!!!

Hello all. I am having some problems with my SLVR. What happened was, my original SLVR broke, and the display messed up to where I cannot see anything on it....it is a solid, white lit up screen. I had insurance, and got a new one. However, now, I have my new one, but need to get the pics off of my old one. I had some of my pics stored on the memory card, which is obviously easy to get access to. However, I had some stored to the actual phone memory itself, and when i connect it to the computer, i dont think there is a way to get access to the actual phone's memory is there? Can anyone help me out here? I had a lot of pics from my recent vacation that i would love to get off of there. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is hard to follow...

Re: Need Major Cingular SLVR Help!!!

any advice for any methods i can go about with this? Like i said, i still have the old phone, and have not sent it back yet. However, I need the pics off of it that are on the phone's memory and not the memory card. Also, i cant see anything on the display, so i cant simply transfer all of the pics to my memory card. Any help please? I think i probably have to send it back here in the next few days, so i need to do this soon.

Put your sim card back in the old phone and power it up, regardless of you being able to see the screen you should still be able to get the picks off via a data cable (If you don't have one a standard digital camera cable will work, doesn't cost much) hook it up to your computer and if you don't have your itunes set to automatically come on when ever your phone is connected it will find your hpone as a removible device in your my computer folder from there it's pretty simple locate your pictures and cut paste them to your computer

Both you most likely need your mem card as well for your comp to see your phone as a removible device.

Re: Need Major Cingular SLVR Help!!!

OK Ill have to mess around a lil bit i guess. I turned my iTunes to not automatically open, but it still opens it up under the same name, and has the exact same folders as before i messed with iTunes. Do i need to change anything on the phone itself maybe?
Also, I got the "Found New Hardware" Prompt when i connected it, but said it could not find the necessary hardware for it....could this be a problem?

Re: Need Major Cingular SLVR Help!!!

I just cant seem to get this to work. I set iTunes to not open automatically, but when i plug my phone in, i go to My Computer and i still get the same exact files as before, and cannot get access to my phone's memory it seems. I read something about a program called Motorola Phone Tools...Will this get the job done? I simply need to be able to drag my pics off of my phone, onto my computer, and back onto my new phone. Will this work?

Re: Need Major Cingular SLVR Help!!!

Yes mpt will work, I was hoping to find you a fast and easy way, to recap you have itunes set up to not open when you hook your phone up, correct? Because if you just disable the auto start-up from the windows start up you'll still have this prob. And befor you ask mpt can be found in the free stuff for your moto thread just be sure to auto update otherwise it will never reconize your phone.
