Editing Default/firmware backgrounds

Here's the story behind this question. My company rents out telecommunicaiton equipment including cellphones, sat phones, signal boosting equipment, and also a wide array of custom mobile data managemnt equipment/software. We have some where in the area of 2500 of the i265 Motorola cell phones on the IDEN (Nextel) network. When we rent these phones out we include custom data (contacts/dates...etc.) to the clients specifactions. When we get the phones back we remove all data in the phone through the "reset defaults" option and also we constantly "master reset" the phones due to endless market transfers.

Okay...here's my question. How can I make the default (in phone) background our company logo. I know that I could setup a template setting through the phone sync software and attachment which would require us to individually plug the phones in and sync them up (which would be erased everytime we reset defaults or master reset.) However this is not cost effective because it would take up too much time. I've spoke with the service provider(Nextel in this case) and got the usual "paid to stare out of the window" customer service agent. Of course they couldn't/didn't want to help. I know this is possible because I've seen other companies have this on their phones.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Editing Default/firmware backgrounds

No one has replied to this post, but I figured out the answer anyway and for any of you who were interested in this question this is what I found out.

To actually complete the task of editing the default (firmware) backgrounds you must get hold of some of the manufacturers software. I won't name it here because the only reason I was able to get a copy was because my company has a dealer account with Motorola and that is the only way to legally recieve the software(from what I am told). I believe I ordered it for around $230. Thank you to all who read my initial post.

Thanks

Re: Editing Default/firmware backgrounds

There's quite alot of software out there for moto's, though I personnally don't consider nextels moto's even though their made by the same company and bear their logo. Anyone who has ever hacked a moto and then tried to hack a nextel nows exactly what I mean. After I read this post my curiosity was raised as I have a nextel through work and don't like to have the same thing as everyone else, so what I found out was you would have to replace a few img files to really make this work.... from what I got you would replace the carrier_img.gif and pwrdown_img.gif as well as 2 others if need be (text_img.gif and java_img.gif) but to replace them you would need gif's formated to the exact spefications required by nextels (not so with moto's, close is good enough) well after downloading webjal and trying to force a transfer I ended up with a brick.... maybe not as I later found out my sim door was bent and could have caused the prob. To make a long story short I was trying to answer your question with a tested method, but wasn't so lucky but I still would like to hear that answer and if your worried about releasing software info to the general community you can pm me with a walkthrough thanks in advance Griff.
