Unlocked Pebl

I am currently a customer with Cingular and am tired of my old Razr. I was looking into buying an unlocked PEBL because im not eligible for an upgrade yet. If i plug in my sim card from cingular into the unlocked Pebl, will it work alright. I am sure that i will get phone calls like a normally would, but would i be able to receive text messages? I do not go online with my phones at all. I mostly use them for text massages and calls.

Would i have to get it set up for receiving texts?

If I remember correctly, Cingular uses GSM (same as T-Mobile). The PEBL is also a quadband phone. I don't see why it shouldn't work.

I bought an unlocked PEBL from eBay a year ago for my dad. It's an ok phone. I much prefer the KRZR I have now. For some reason, his PEBL keeps receiving unknown text messages that contain weird characters at times. I think it has something to do with it being unlocked. In either case, make sure you really want the PEBL before buying it.

You will have to configure your phone to use the browser and picture messaging.

but like texts and voice mails would work allright

just maybe a problem with the internet or mms msjs

id consider a pebl if i were you...theyre not to bad nice little phone, good cam, good sound quality.
