V3i help...

I'm having a few problems with the v3i. Here they are:

going on aol instant messanger, where in the menu do I find it? Can someone please tell me where to go.

and

when I go to the web browser it says "Connection unsuccessful, try again later."

could it be that I bought the phone without a plan? I have a cingular simcard in there with the 59.99 plan. I just upgraded my phone from a nokia to the v3i.

The same few problems with the v3i "Connection unsuccessful, try again later." so I couldn't help taking some advises from my friends told me to take a exotic phone n now I enjoy it much.
