Can you give some instructions as to how to use Audition to create a ringtone?

    thanks
Also make sure the name of the ringtone is 20 chrs or less. If its longer than 20 the transfer won't start.

Write down exactly what the error msg says and let me know. Cuz based on what you've said there shouldn't be a problem.

    Re: i880 ringtones

When i try to upload a wav onto my phone I get this error

"The mobile device has experienced a communication problem with the computer system. This is caused by corrupted media, incorrect media format, and/or faulty data cable"

Now I can place a MP# onto the phone, but it will only appear and play in media library, not in ringtones, so the data cable is working

can you upload a couple of your ringtones and have me try to install them and see what happens? maybe the adobe audtion files or even other mp3 files are not right somehow and the only way to test that is to use a file we all know is a good ringtone

I have read that, and it didnt help answer all my questions, Nothing on that link says how to create a ringtone for my phone, which programs are easier to use for the nontechie, and how large ringtones can be for each phone before the limit makes it not a good ringtone.

Also it helps a lot to talk to someone actually doing the creation of ringtones for the same phone i have.

I did learn some stuff in that link though so I do appreciate the link, I have bookmarked it for future reading even more on the subject.

thanks a lot, you are super, I havent read what you wrote anywhere else, it is a fantastic resurce for anyone having questions about ringtones

also the part about disabling the card reader was a little confusing because that verbage isnt actually on my I880, but it did have a "enable the USB" which mine was turned off and after enabling that, at least I was able to upload things on the phone, now I can play around with programs to try to create ringtones, I am trying to fiugure out now what size restraints are on each phone (Whats too large a ringtone, whats the upper limit?)

    Re: i880 ringtones

I was able to make my first ringtone last night, which made me super happy

I used Sound Forge, which made saving as mono and and using the other formats easier than Adobe Audition

I will see what else I can make tonight to make sure it wasnt a fluke

A: The program I used is dbpoweramp, the link to the software is in the sticky I mentioned

A:This is an i880 (IDEN) thread, the format I mentioned in the sticky is for all IDEN phones

A: Also found in the sticky I mentioned: 20 sec is the longest the clip should be.
A: The card reader/USB info is in the i880 manual.
Hope this helps, otherwise post here, or send me a PM
