I have the nextel i880 phone, and i was wondering if anyone knows a software program that allows me to create my own ringtones and then use them on my i 880. Any help would be great.

Re: i880 ringtones
No, The Motorola I880 is not recognized with the Motorola Phone Tools, if you go to the motorola web site the I880 isnt listed as a phone covered by them,
I have the I880 and have tried both Motorola phone tools and MyJal and the motorola doesnt even recognize thephone and the using MYJAL, I have tried every format and it keeps erroring out saying there is a problem with either the phone or datacord, which isnt true
Anyone actually have an I880 that has been able to add ringtones to their phone?

Re: i880 ringtones
I have made and continue to make ringtones for my i880. I've used webjal(free program) and am currently using myjal(cost me 20 bucks). When connecting with either program, you must make sure your phone is set to the correct mode. Go to:Menu/Settings/Memory Card/USB Connection/ must put it to Reader Disabled, if you don't then the program won't work cuz it will try and access the memory card. You need it to access the internal memory on your sim card.

Re: i880 ringtones
My settings are already set to that (Reader Disabled)
I dont have a problem witht he MYJAL connecting to my phone, I have a problem in it accepting any ringtones I send to it, it always says there is something wrong with the ringtone or data cable
Since your making ringtones, let me know what program you use to make them and what format are you using (mp3,wav,amr,etc) and what format of each
thanks, your the first person that has answered that is actually doing it on an I880

Re: i880 ringtones
I went out and bought Adobe Audtions but not sure if I saved my first ringtone correctly
I selected 8bit,8,000mhz, mono, but the ringtone still bombed when myjal tried to add it to my phone
Can you give some instructions as to how to use Audition to create a ringtone?
thanks

Videos are up, go to jdshoneybrown7 on youtube. There are 6 parts, the lighting isn't very good, but all the important parts are visible. Enjoy!
