If you use MPT and you've recently updated to Vista, you are probably not happy that Vista is not communicating with MPT.

Well, I've found the answer! Yup. Got the solution!

You need to download some new drivers that have just become available on the Motorola Developers' Website. The exact URL to download these drivers is here ...

MOTODEV > Documentation & Tools > USB Drivers for Motorola Products > Handset USB Driver for Windows

You will need to register at this site, but it is free.

After you register, download the file. Unplug your phone, run the installation (unzip the file, then right click on it, and select Install). Vista will ask you numerous times to approve the unsigned driver. Just agree. After you get through the install routine, you'll be prompted to restart your computer. Do that. Then, after the restart, plug your phone in, you may need to refresh your connection but after that your phone will be discovered with the correct drivers and you'll be back in business with your Vista OS.

Very cool huh? How about some serious rep credit for this from you guys? This is a breakthrough if you've been having headaches with Vista and MPT.

    Good luck!

Amazes me that no one has posted to this thread. Is no one else here using Vista and MPT? This seemed to me to be a huge breakthrough as no one could get Vista and MPT to talk to each other. Is no one else really using Vista and MPT here in CPF?

    Wireless,
Thanks for the information. Went home and ran it last nite. I was getting frustrated as no one seemed to give a darn. I have a V551 and had to load a differnt modems.pac file they had sent me some time ago. After I did that it hooked up and I was in business.
    Thanks for the help!
    Russ

    That's interesting...
Everyone here is pulling their hair off for MPT to work on Vista. Why are they taking much tension? just because MPT V4 in not compatible with Vista?
    Its much simple!!!

Just install your software in Vista by XP Compatibility feature in Vista. Then update your software to V5. Because V5 is compatible with Vista!

    That's it!
