I have a Motorola e815 and it kind of got wet so I took my battery out let it dry for a good couple days and it actually turns back on. However, when the battery is in it says "Invalid Battery" when I take the battery out then I can check my texts and view contacts, etc., but it freezes up, shuts off, turns back on and locks up for a little bit then I can go back and move around the menu.
Is there a way to fix any of this (like getting a new battery, resetting my phone, etc) or is there anything else I can try? I really don't want to have to buy a new one beings I just got this one, but in any case all help is appreciated
thanks
Robby

Re: Motorola E815 help
Water damage is a tricky thing. It can leave a phone completely inoperable or totally unscathed. The thing to remember is that once the phone gets wet, your warranty is void and there is very little you can do with it at that point. You can try a new battery, and that might solve the problem temporarily, but there is no guarantee that it will be a permanent fix. Phones are generaly not "repairable", because individual parts and labor would cost more than replacement!

Re: Motorola E815 help
Like paulcman pointed out, water damaged phones can be real tricky. They might work for awhile then just quit without any notice. If you really want to keep your phone, bring it in to an individual or business that can clean it. However, there is no way of fixing water damaged phones sucessfully. They usually have problems later.

Re: Motorola E815 help
Alright thanks guys. Yeah I just broke down and had them get me a new phone. Unfortunately I had to get the same phone and I'm not a fan of Motorola's but oh well. If it happens again I'll def keep this in mind.
