You know the sound that speakers make when you are getting a call and standing next to them...Well, my phone's internal speaker gets that interference from its own antenna. The speaker is buzzing in my ear throughout every phone call, and sometimes it is so loud that I can barely hear the person I am speaking to. Wearing my bluetooth earpiece solves the issue, but I don't want to have to use it all the time.

Has anyone else had an issue like this with the L6/L7 or any other phone? I hear Cingular's frequency causes the most speaker interference...Maybe since my phone wasn't Cingular-branded, it wasn't made to cope with the higher level of speaker interference.

Got some views...Nobody has heard/heard of this phenomenon before? Is it plausible to unscrew the phone and move the antenna?

The frequency in which Cingular runs it's network 850/1900 mHz has nothing to do with interference on your handset...you have a defective device....have you tried lowering the "earpiece" volume?

No, it's always at max volume. I'll try that next time I use the phone.

Why wouldn't the frequency matter? I thought that was the reason because it's the same interference sound in all other speakers.

If it was the frenquency in which your phone is running can you imagine how many folks would be returning their L7's because of this and all GSM phones for that matter? I have a European Razr V3x that only runs on T-Mobile's 1900mHz band and it still creates the same interference as my Cingular Razr did that was supported by Cingular's 850 mHz band when it's closed to my recording equiptment....your phone is obviously defective but it's irrelevant to the network it's running on.

Turning the volume down had no effect. Since you are sure that network signals are not the cause for the interference, what is the source?

I might need to specify that the sound is not constant, as if the speaker was blown, but EXACTLY how speakers sound when you are getting a call--erratic, with mixed buzzes. There is no constant pattern or behavior that influences the interference, and it does not affect the sound of the voice on the other line (although it makes it hard to hear sometimes).
