MOTOROLA MPx220

I just purchased a MOTOROLA MPx220. I have not received it yet but I would like to ask some questions about the phone.

The phone uses Windows Mobile Smart phone but I do not know what version it is using. i think it is 2003. I am think of upgrading it to the 2007 version.

If i upgrade it to the 2007 version will it slow down the phone? what is the requirements in order to use 2007 version of the windows mobile?

Where can i find a compilation of softwares that i can install on the phone? can i install codecs on the phone?

The biggest reason why i got this phone is that i hear i can install a GPS software on the phone and use it like a GPS. is that true? which GPS software is the best for my phone?

How do i install software and upgrade the phones drivers?

I also know that it has some audio problems but i do not know if it has the latest upgrades form Motorola. I went to their site but can't seems to find drivers/softwares for the phone. I know its been a wile since the phone was released.

Do i need all these drivers if i am going to upgrade the phone to the 2007 version of the windows mobile? if i do need the drivers, do i just install them like how i will install it on a windows? os first then the drivers? Where can i find the latest drivers for my phone? please post the link.

Please let me know any other informations that i need to know about this phone.

I just killed my Sony Ericsson so I need this phone to last me a wile. Please help everybody.

you best bet wait for the phone to be in ur hands test it out before you decide to do anything to it. but when it comes to windows i assume its gonna screw things up for you -consider urself warned :lol:

Hi. Did you ever get an answer to your questions? I, too, am a new owner of an unlocked Motorola MPx220 cellphone (thru e-bay). I wonder if you found a current upgrade to the firmware. If so, which version and where can I download it? Can you help? How is your MPx220? Do you use the options? Thanks.
