Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
To chime in, when you've transferred the file to your sd card and you go to your games and app folder you'll have to tell your phone to look in your sd card mem, you can do this by (once your in you games and app folder) hit your soft menu (which is the same button as your main menu) chose switch storage device and chose your sd card once you back out from there you should see the "install new" option. Hope this helps.

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
I concur with Griffzan. Although All of my games are listed in "games & apps", pre-installed games were stored in phone memory. You should always see the "install" option.

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
Hello, I'm new to the forums but I seem to have the same problem. I think it probably depends on the carrier-how you access the games on your phone. I have a KRZR with Technology dual 800/1900 CDMA-1X and S/W Version is 24.0_00.26.OF and finally PRL Version is 39938. I go through U.S. Cellular and don't have trouble with custom ringtones, but games are accessed through Easy Edge therefore there is no install option (that I'm aware of...). Am I S.O.L.? Is there a way to get custom games or emulators on my KRZR? I would really appreciate some feedback. Is it possible?

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
I know very little about the cdma versions of our gsm counterparts, but from what I do know is that the cdma versions are limited in that they are by the service provider prohibited from doing most of the things the gsm versions do (i.e. bluetooth, communicating with mpt etc.) I can not say that your provider does this but from what I've seen the user interface is different as well so you may want to ask your s.p. before you get your hopes up.

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
I don't have an install option either. Is there another way to play games on my phone? I do purchase a lot of games through easy edge, but an NES or SNES would just be so nice. There HAS to be a way. maybe a GUI on the PC that installs to easy edge or something? maybe a way to change from CDMA to whatever works? Cmon now, I want in on this. And (off subject) my buddy has an LG chocolate-games possible?

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
Hey,
coldNhomeless, what is your provider? I assume it's not Cingular?
Mine is not Cingular (as you might've seen on previous posts), and I believe that's the reason why I don't have the Install option. I guess that each provider decides if they want to let his customers download games and apps or not.
I'm gonna ask my provider what is the problem, I guess tommorow.
Sure, it won't be the smartest idea to ask them "How can I download illegal games for free and put them on my phone?!?!", but heck, I'll give it a try. They can't do anything to me ;]
Thanks,
Tomeron

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
I have U.S. Cellular. I just asked the guy at U.S. Cellular if there was an install option "hidden" on the KRZR. He says that the phones have a lock that prevent installing "outside" programs and changing the firmware and your number and all of that. So I think we need to find a way to unlock or force an install.

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
i got it to work on my KRZR K1.... here are the steps I had to take...
In Settings/Connection/USB Settings set it to Memory Card
- Plug your camera into your computer via USB cable
- Open your camera's memory (mine was f:\) and find your video folder
- Copy the .jar files to your video folder
- unplug phone
- Go to Games and Apps and go to options and install... and they should be there

Re: Games on Motorola KRZR K1
Actually your wrong, if you take a look at this http://cellphoneforums.net/motorola/...la-phones.html you'll see a link for midway which allows you to download games on your phone, and the K1 which is the gsm version will allow you to copy the games just like you would transfer photos to a flash drive. After connecting your phone you can browse the folders on your phone find the kjava folder (should be in "mobile") and transfer all your jar games there, if you put the games anywhere else your phone will not find them. Once there on your phone go to your games tab and use your soft menu to switch storage device and change to card browse the contents and find your jar file and install it will ask you if you want to install to phone or card (I use both because I have a crap load of games and you can only install 30 per each) Sorry it took me so long to respond but my subscription to this thread was deleted.
