Got a friend that has a Motorola V3C Razor Phone. He is trying to get it to download ring tones. I've never done it before. We connected the phone using a USB cable that came with a camera. The new hardware device mgr. recognize the phone as the Mot. V3C. I downloaded USB drivers for a Mot. V3C which was for a modem and if I recall correctly it also said mass storage device.
We also downloaded Motorola phone tools 4.0
Whatever he was using in phone tools recognize his phone and he was sampling ring tones. However, he was not able to transfer the ring tone from the phone tool on the PC to the phone. My guess is he didn't have phone settings correct to allow the said transfer. I recall reading that the phone had to be in a particular setting and phenetol I inquired I got no response. And then there was something about blue tooth. This can't be that difficult. I've tried goggling a step by step tutorial to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
By the way the OS is XP SP2
He was saying that it wasn't suppose to be mass storage. It wasn't long I couldn't even focus. Need step by step instructions so he can't confuse me. lol

    Re: Ringtones

Well, I'm guessing ring tones and a Mot . razor phone is serious stuff. I managed to locate a user manual to the phone and a user manual to the Mot. phone tools 4.0 software.
I now have a better understanding of what it's going to take to get er done.
I don't guess you have to have bluetooth installed to transfer ring tones from a PC to the phone via the mini data cable.
That dang phone will do more than my desktop. It's crazy!
