Re: Moto W385 and phone tools

I have the motorola w385 from verizon. MPT does not do much with the W385.
I use P2k commander to get into the w385. With it, I can add ringtones and take photos off of the phone and add them also.

Re: Moto W385 and phone tools

I have a proven method that has worked fro me.

1st: Download the drivers for Motorola W385. Drivers can be found by Googleing or if you are running Vista, drivers will be automatically downloaded and installed once the phone is connected for the first time.

    2nd: Download and install BitPim.

3rd: Connect phone using USB cable and wait for it to be installed. Then go to Device Manager and click on Modems and then right click on Motorola USB Modem to open the properties for the connected phone. Then click on the Advance tab, then Advance Port Settings andView the port the phone is communicating on. ** Remember the COM Port # **

4th: Open BitPim. It will not recognize the phone automatically, this is done by opening BitPim's Settings, Edit>Settings. Change the Phone Type field to Other CDMA Phone and change the COM Port to the port from step 3, click OK. Now you should be able to read the FileSystem. Your Pictures are in the motorola>shared>incamera folder. (jpg files). Right click and save to desired location.

    Good Luck
