Help I finaly got P2k to work with my phone by loading Moto Software Update program first then P2K. But my problem is I added music for ringers and found I could not set them as ring tones. And now when I view all my ringers all of them are locked even ones I have sent myself through another site that we not locked. and then today I missed a call and did not hear 2 out of my 3 alarms set and when I relized this it was to open my phone to see the time and saw the missed call. I hit send to see the missed call and no key tones. I closed the phone and hit a key on the side of phone nw sound works but will I encounter this again. help what caused the ringers to get loced and the sound to muted and why are ringers locked that wernt before. I did use I think the seem editor in P2K and checked a box on a seem but unchecked it after I did not see it do anything.
help I want to get the rigers that went locked unloced and also make shure ai wont loose the sound again. I dont mind the ringer that I add using P2K not being able to be set as ringer as I will just continue to use the site I have been using but I want the other 2 fixed.

Re: W385 and ringtones
Once you have p2kcommander connected - you can drop your ringtones (mp3 files) in the following folder:
a/brew/mod/my_ringers/
Then brows to a/ and delete MyToneDB.db and TmpTneDB.db
Restart the phone and you should be able to use the new mp3 files as ringtones.
The ringers are locked because you are adding them like they are part of the original phone software. The only way to remove or edit is throught P2K.

Re: W385 and ringtones
I was able to connect no problem using p2kcommander. Everything looks ok when it recognizes phone. My question is, the instructions say that once connected you can drop the mp3 files to this folder "a/brew/mod/my_ringers/". Where do you find this folder ? What I'm doing wrong ?

Re: W385 and ringtones
Those are the Verizon folders. If you have a different provider, the folders may be different. Just look through the folders until you find the names of the ringtones.

Re: W385 and ringtones
On this post, you said that the ringers are locked because you are adding them like they are part of the original phone software. The only way to remove or edit is throught P2K.
How do I prevent this. I used P2K comander to add new ringtones and now all ringtones are locked and my w385 won't ring no matter what ringtone I set.
I tried reloading the ringtones, deleting the two db files on the root folder, renaming ringtones to .qcp and nothing works.
I tried using bitpim and MPT but both give me a message that the provider has locked that functionality.
Help, please. You can email me at: jack - at - paralleldesigns dot net
