Re: How Is The New Motorola MOTO W755

My first cell phone after a few years of being "disconnected" I enjoy the phone, but I think it lacks in customization and useability.

    pros:
80mb of memory already in the phone,
accepts standard microSD cards up to 4gig
easy to sync music w/ winMP
touch pad on outside of phone for music play
    nice camera quality and settings
    voice recognition
nice looking, sturdy body, nice shape

    cons:
file transfer from phone memory (w/out microSD) non existent
new phone, not much out as far as customizing
main button sensitivity is a little low
    battery door opens randomly

most of what I see as cons are personal preference. I like to use my phone in many more ways aside from just a communication device. Cell phones are made w/ so many fun options and features, this phone just seems to not have them all yet.

I have had this phone for a couple months now and I love it. The only way I have found to transfer ringtones is through the computer using a P2K editor, and motorola software update. It does work. Specifics can be found on the web and at the motodev website. Any other files are easily transferred this way or through use of a bluetooth dongle with your computer, or simply a USB to mini USB cable. No drivers are needed for Win XP SP3. Windows recognized my phone right away.

I forgot to mention that I replaced my RAZR V3c with this phone. I much prefer this one to the RAZR. It does everything the RAZR did and supports more bluetooth functions, and the music even sounds better on the W755. Although this phone is thicker than the RAZR it is not as wide or as tall, and has a sturdier feel to it. I was always afraid I was going to break my RAZR, but not the W755. In my opinion, If you like the RAZR, you'll love the W755.

Re: How Is The New Motorola MOTO W755

Ive had mine for about a month now and I love it! Great all around mid-range phone. I was able to send ringtones via text for awhile then i think verizon figured it out. Now is blocked. I use the music player alot as a replacement to my barely used nano. Battery life is improving dramatically I have no idea why.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good looking-reliable phone.

    Republic Flier ...

I have been able to add ringtones to my wife's W755 using a USB cable, Motorola Software Update (MSU), and P2kCommander.

Yeah I've tried that with a couple versions of P2k Commander none of them seem to work yet. It works great until P2K detects my phone and then I get the windows send error report screen thing. It's so predictable I've timed it to 10 seconds

What version of P2K are you using? The newer versions will not work with the W755, but version 4.9.E works fine.

    That's the one I've tried.

P2K 4.9.E will work with your W755, but you may have to play with the Options. Start by making sure that all of the checkboxes under Manual settings (autodetect off) are uncheched, and try selecting New (fast) 3G-P2k under P2k tuning.

Yeah I fiddled with the setting some other guy recommended from Howard forums. Not the same ones as yours. I"ll give it a try sometime in the near future. I am currently happy with the couple of ringtones I've got on their and I can use the micro SD for music.
    Thanks for your help though.
