    Re: I880 ringtone help

I had the same problem until I found out how to do it.

First you need to get DBPoweramp, you will have to Google search it as I can't post the link yet.

Once you have that installed then all you have to do is right click on your ring tone and then click on "convert to" and it will bring up dbpoweramp's window.

Change the settings in dbpoweramp to the following:
    Converting to - MP3 (Lame)
Put radio mark in - Bit Rate (CBR)
Then move the slider to - Constant Bit Rate 48 kbps
    Set encoding to - Normal

Next click on the advanced button and use the following settings:
    Frequency - 8 KHz
    Channels - 1 Mono
Put check mark in - Original
    Then click "OK"

After you have those settings then save the file to where you want and then click convert. After it has been converted you should be able to upload it to your phone and see it in your ring tones.

    Hope this helps ya out.

Hello, just a quick question...Do you need a cable to transfer the converted music/ringtone to your phone or is it okey to just tranfer the file from the computer to the memory card????

Yeah you need the USB cable to add ring tones. The ring tone will show up in your media center but you can't set it as a ring tone when you load it to the memory card.

Yeah you can't add it through your tools on your phone you have to go to the song itself, find the menu on the song and click add as ringtone. you should find it eventually

    Re: I880 ringtone help

I followed your steps and still nothing. I edited the song as you said. I put the mp3 on the sd card in the phone via the usb card reader mode. I then copied the mp3 file from the card to the phone with the 'copy to phone' command, and still the 'assign to contact' option is not available in the menu. I've waisted so much time reading things that don't work, I give up unless you can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
