I am an unsophisticated user, so my apologies to all you experts out there.
I want to make my Motorola Razr V3c work as a modem for my XP laptop (an old Toshiba). I've read the posts on how to do this and it is beyond my skill level. I would like to bring my phone, laptop and cables to you & have you make the damn thing work! of course, reasonable compensation will be in order.
Anyone willing to do this, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, between now and Feb 25???
    thanks!

To add to Camstuf's suggestion, why not take your devices to your local wireless service provide, they can also help you with that, beats having some stranger come to your house imho.

    jhansen389 ...

You may not be able to use bluetooth to connect your phone as a modem to your laptop. Have you tried a USB cable? It may be that since you are a Verizon customer (like me), you may have to do it that way.

When you plug the USB cable into the laptop, and then into the phone, you should get an acknowledgement that the phone has been detected as a Motorola USB Modem (look in Control Panel - Phone and Modem Options, in the Modems tab). If it shows up there, you should be able to go into Control Panel - Internet Options, open the Connections tab, and look for Motorola in the Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings window. Highlight it, and select the option: Always dial my default connection. Then click on the Settings button (below the Remove button), and type in your dial-up username and password (may have to check for the Verizon settings). Finally, click the Properties button next to the User name field, and on the next page in the Phone number field, type the number your phone will be dialing (for Verizon, it is #777).

These settings should allow you to use your V3c as a dial-up modem with your laptop. Keep in mind, however, that Verizon will charge you, depending on your calling plan, either for airtime you are connected or for the amount of data you download/upload (in MBs). When you first connect, you may see a Verizon screen that tells you which plan you need to be on (e.g., $59.95 per month), and the connection charges.
