Re: set mp3's as ringtones on moto z6w
Sure. Your phone is a lot like my Moto Z6tv. I use a different ringtone for each member in my family (so I know right away who's calling). You can also make your own custom ringtones and add them to your phone if you have a USB data cable for your phone, and two free software apps: Motorola Software Update (MSU) and P2kCommander (P2kC) ... do a Google search for each one to find where you can download them.

"I got both of them and I modified the theme, but my phone company blocked the ringtone function
I couldn't set my mp3 as my ringtone at all, but only the company ringtone."
Who is your carrier? Like I said, I'm with VZW, and I have had no problems adding my own homemade ringtones, and using a different one for each member of the family. Have you actally been able to add your own ringtones? If so, where do you put them on your phone? On my Z6tv, they go into /a/brew/mod/my_ringers.

Re: set mp3's as ringtones on moto z6w
I'm not familiar with FIDO or its policies, but they may be even more restrictive than VZW. For instance, I have no problems adding ringtones to my Moto Z6tv using a USB cable, MSU and P2kC, but I cannot do it thru bluetooth because Verizon has locked out that capability ... go figure!

Re: set mp3's as ringtones on moto z6w
Ok so I followed the above steps. However I've run into a problem. While I can move ringtones onto the phone and see them and even play them, when I go to Contacts, I cannot set them to be used.
Phone Info:
Motorola V6TV
Network: VZW
Firmware: PARS_01.31.00
I had the phone added to my plan about 4 days ago and came here to find out how to put Ringtones onto the phone (Which worked 99% and was well written).
Any advice or possible help with this? Id love to put some ringtones on my phone with the above method as sending them from my email to my phone results in me only being able to set a select few as ringtones (All are in 64kbps bitrate and under the 1:30 stated limit... To be safe I tried with 64k and 30 seconds and still nothing.)

I had the same problem, but found out that if you delete both MyToneDB.db and TmpTneDB.db from the phone's root directory (/a), restart the phone, and then load the new ringtones onto your phone, you will be able to play them as ringtones.

Many thanks Celljimian. Now the ones I put in there work just fine.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the things i can add to the phone and what it can do.

Re: set mp3's as ringtones on moto z6w
With my Z6tv, I have to use a USB data cable and two programs: Motorola Software Update (MSU, which I have to launch first), and then P2kCommander (P2K, using version 6.0.0). After plugging my phone into the PC, I launch MSU and wait for the phone to be detected. Then I launch P2K, wait for the two-column display to appear, and then select the phone's root directory ( /a P2k Phone System) at the top of the left-hand column. From there, I double-click until it shows my phone directory where ringtones are stored (in my case, it's /a/brew/mod/my_ringers; yours may be different, but I would look there first). Once there, I can use the Copy command to send MP3 or MID files from my PC to the ringtone directory.
