stop from connecting to internet

I have just bought the motorola karma Qa1. I bought it just for the texting because I text and I wanted the keyboard. My nephew was playing with the phone and before I knew it he had went on the internet games and it said transfer ?????bytes. I noticed that when I was looking around the phone just about everything the phone has installed requires an internet connection. How can it block anyone from going on the internet? You know maybe password protect connections to the internet!

So can anyone help me on this? How do you stop a phone from connecting to the internet and charging me data charges. So many things on this phone is causing it to connect to the internet

I would sure love to know if you get an answer to this. I just got my phone today. Every 30 seconds or less it keeps flashing an message with a green I that says xxxxx bytes transferred. It is annoying the hell out of me. I love the phone but if it is going to do this I will take it back. I'm sure this will drain the battery power.

message "XXXXX bytes transferred" keeps popping up every few seconds.

Okay - so this stinks and is not the BEST answer but when i signed out of Yahoo Messenger, it stopped happening. There really should be a setting somewhere that prevents this from happening. Still looking for a better answer.

No I could not get anyone to tell me what to do so since I was not using the social part of the phone I was just wanting the phone because of the texting board. I do some texting and it is easier that with this keyboard. So I just had the data package taken off and turned off where no data could come or go. I don't like that because I like to send pictures every now and then but I am unable to send or receive them now. I am not 100% sold on this phone since it is a new phone there is not a lot of help out there nor is it a lot of software that I would like. I don't like the fact that it does not have a notepad or stop watch or a clock you can set for M-F instead I have to enable it every night. I am thinking of getting another phone and selling this one to a family member.
