This is my sisters phone. She handed it to me, since i am the techie, but im dumbfounded.

When you go to messages on her phone, for text messaging, It gives the following menu:
    1. Thanks (0)
    2. Thanks (0)
    3. Thanks (0)
    4. Thanks (0)
    5. Thanks (0)
    6. Thanks (0)
    7. Thanks (0)
    8. Thanks (0)
    9. Thanks (0)

    What happened?

I rebooted the phone, Took battery out for maybe a minute and put it in and powered on, and neither did anything.

So the only way i can think of is to flash the phone, (after backing up contacts) but im sure she doesn't wanna do that.

What is wrong, how can i fix it other than flashing if possible?

Sounds like either a Firmware problem, or she signed up for one of those "pay per text" websites and they are trying to get money.

    I'd say flash it.

    Re: Motorola W315 Thanks Messaging

I have had this phone for 2 years and it has been great. My cell provider did some type of upgrade recently and my phone has had the Thanks, Thanks, Thanks problem since. Of course the cell company says "its nothing we did and it cant be fixed, buy a new phone."

    Any way to fix this??

If you go to settings, initial settings, master reset, and use security code (default= 000000) it will reset to factory defaults. Make sure to get all your contacts from the phone first as they will be erased. This fixed mine.
