How to bypass the Phone unlock code?

I have a Motorola Hint for US Cellular. I for the the password on the phone. When I turn on the phone it tells me to put in the password. Is there anyway I have reset the password or Hard Reset the phone? Please help me out with this one, Thank you

i didnt, what she is saying hard ware lock..i have the same problem, i forgot my phone lock, is there anyway to unlock the phone automatically, or any general unlock code.....
