I've looked around this forum a bit, and I seem to have the opposite problem of some of the people on here: instead of wanting to put music on my phone, I want to take it off. You see, I bought some music for my Motorola W755 Purple on Vcast Music, and I'm trying to copy the files onto my computer. While I'm able to connect the two and open the phone's internal memory, I'm unable to copy and paste any of the songs. I've also tried using Windows Media Player to copy them, but it gives me an error saying I can't (and is helpful enough to not give me the reason why). So, am I even able to copy the files on my cell phone and paste them elsewhere, and if so, what am I doing wrong?

Re: Is it possible to copy music files off of a Motorola W755?
The answer appears to be "no."
According to Wikipedia (by no means the final word on all things, but a pretty good starting point on things technical):
V CAST provides music downloads and streaming video clips, which can be saved to the phone or a removable memory card, though they cannot be read by other phones or computers, since they are heavily protected by digital rights management software based on Windows Media Video 9 and developed by PacketVideo.

Re: Is it possible to copy music files off of a Motorola W755?
The answer is YES if you have songs stored on a microSD card in the phone. It can be done for songs stored in the phone's internal memory using Verizon's V-Cast, but that can be a pain in the neck. Moral of the story: use a microSD card with your W755 (it can use at least a 2 GB card). This is true for songs you load yourself ... not sure about songs you download from VZW.

Re: Is it possible to copy music files off of a Motorola W755?
Since I have never downloaded songs from Verizon, I have never run into the problem of having music files that are encryped in such a way that you cannot transfer them to the PC. Verizon seems to be good at crippling things like this, but I guess that's their way of maximizing their profits.
