The Motorola Milestone finally gets an upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo. It may not be the Gingerbread update, but it's still big news for the Motorola Milestone. We first heard last year, that the Motorola Milestone had no intentions on updating the handset, at least in the U.S. and then it was mentioned that there WOULD be an update, but only in Germany. Then came the final news that it would be upgraded, but in the last quarter of 2010.

The update for the Milestone will take place by using your computer and data cable, not over the air. One thing that Motorola did mention, which makes no sense, is that once the update is completed, your Milestone may run slower. They suggest closing out any unused apps. Isn't Froyo suppose to be faster?

Apps and settings will be lost once you update. You can view the Release Notes here: http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/...e_FROYO_EN.pdf
