My phone got washed and I did the rice thing for two and a half days. I was pleasantly surprised when it started right back up. I got the message that it needed to be charged, which I did. It seemed to be doing quite well and I heard the tone for an incoming message. When I went to check, it was completely dead. Tried taking out the battery and reinstalling, but all to naught. Any suggestions? I don't care so much about the phone, but I have many pictures I would like to get off.

    Thanks!

It's a Virgin Mobile Venture phone

There is likely something internal that is still wet or shorting because of whatever was in the water is now dried on the circuit board(s). Do you have an sd card in the phone?

Did you remove the battery when you put the phone in rice? If not you likely shorted out your circuit board by leaving the power in it. I have done the rice thing many times and I have never had it not work after but I always remove the battery right away.
