Backing Up Data
Backing Up Apps:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Backup and reset"
- Go to the "Accounts" tab. (Note: you will need to be logged in to a Google account in order to back up your applications. If necessary, you can tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and then follow the on-screen instructions).
- If necessary, mark the "Backup my data" and "Backup account" checkboxes
Backing up Contacts:
- While viewing the home screen, tap the "Contacts" icon
- Press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Merge contacts" and select "Merge with Google"
- If prompted, log in to your Google account
Backing Up Media Files:
- While viewing any home screen, tap the "Menu" button
- Select "Google+"
- Tap the account that you wish to back up to
- Press "Next" and select either "Over Wi-Fi or mobile network" or "Over Wi-Fi only"
Restoring Data
Restoring Apps:
- Log in to your Google account, if necessary
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to the "Accounts" tab
- Tap "Google" and press "Sync all"
- Press the "Back" key then tap "Backup and reset
- Mark / unmark the check boxes associated with "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restoring Contacts:
- From the home screen, tap the "Menu" key
- Press "Settings"
- Tap the "Accounts" tab and select "Google"
- Tap the email address at the top of the screen
- Check the "Sync contacts" check box, if necessary
- Tap "Sync now"
Restoring Media Files:
- While viewing any of the home screens, tap the "Menu" button
- Select "Google+"
- Select the account that you wish to restore
- Press "Next" and then tap "Also back up existing photos & videos"
