Follow one of the methods below in order to transfer contacts from an iPhone to the Motorola Moto X. Each method has its advantages, so choose the one that suits your needs best.

Transferring Contacts from an iPhone Using iCloud:

  1. Using your computer's Internet browser, visit www.icloud.com and sign in to your iCloud account
  2. Click "Contacts"
  3. From the list, select the contacts that you want to export to your Moto X
  4. Click the icon depicting a cog wheel, located in the lower-left corner of the window
  5. Click "Export vCard"
  6. After your computer downloads the VCF file, import the file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, you can connect your Motorola Moto X to your computer using the USB cable, and then copy the VCF file to the "/sdcard" directory. Afterwards, you will need to access the "People" app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from storage" > "OK"

Transferring Contacts from an iPhone Using iTunes:

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer. If necessary, download the iTunes client from the Apple website
  2. Connect your iPhone to your computer
  3. After your iPhone is connected, click it from the iTunes page
  4. In the device's summary page, click the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts With"
  6. Select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
  7. If you haven't added a Google account previously, enter your Google account login credentials. Otherwise, click "Configure" and select a previously set Google account
  8. Click "Apply" and allow iTunes to finish the syncing process
  9. On your Moto X, register the same Google account, if you haven't done so already. If you need to add the account, access the "Settings" menu and tap "Accounts"
  10. Allow the Google account to sync the contacts

Transferring Contacts from an iPhone Using the "Bump" Application:

NOTE: Bump works by sending information through the cloud. As such, an active Internet connection is required on both smartphones.

  1. Use your iPhone to visit the App Store and download the "Bump" application
  2. On your Moto X, access the Play Store and download "Bump" as well
  3. Open the app on both devices and allow permissions
  4. On the iPhone, go to the "Contacts" section and select the contacts that you want to transfer
  5. When the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, gently bump the phones together
  6. Tap "Connect" in the pop-up window
  7. The contacts from your iPhone should now be sent to the Moto X

Transferring Contacts from an iPhone Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application:

  1. From the App Store, install the "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup", then wait for the contacts to be backed up
  3. After the process is complete, tap "Email" to attach the VCF file to an email
  4. Enter your Gmail address as the recipient, and send the email containing the VCF file to yourself
  5. On your Moto X, open the Gmail containing the VCF attachment, and download it to import the contacts
