Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

While you may use iTunes primarily as a music player, the application in question is actually a great syncing tool as well. iTunes allows you to sync the contacts from your iPhone with your Google account, thus making it very easy to transfer the contacts over to your Android smartphone - in this case the Moto G LTE. For this approach you need a computer with access to the Internet and iTunes installed.

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Using the proprietary USB cable, establish a connection between the iPhone and computer
  3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to access the phone's summary screen
  4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google account's log in credentials. NOTE: if you've already registered a Google account in iTunes, you can go to "Configure" and choose an account from the list
  7. To begin the syncing process, click "Apply"
  8. Once the contacts have been synced, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes, on the Moto G LTE. (NOTE: if you need to add it, go to "Settings" > "Accounts")
  9. Set the Google account so that it can sync contacts with your Moto G LTE

Transferring Contacts Through iCloud:

The iCloud backup service allows you to back up and export your iPhone contacts, in the form of a vCard file. If you've used iCloud on your iPhone before, then your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By logging in to your account via a computer, you can easily transfer the contacts to your Moto G LTE. To do so:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account and go to "Contacts"
  3. From the list of contacts, select the ones that you want to share
  4. When ready, click the icon shaped like a cog wheel, located in the lower-left area of the screen
  5. Select "Export vCard" and wait for your computer to download the file
  6. Once downloaded, import the file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, you can connect the Moto G LTE to your computer via USB, and transfer the file on the phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, you can launch the "People" app, press "Menu" and import the vCard file's contents to your phonebook

Using "My Contacts Backup":

The two methods described above require you to have access to a computer that's connected to the Internet. However, you can also transfer your contacts using various third party applications, such as "My Contacts Backup". This is an iOS app that can back up and share the contacts from your iPhone with an Android device, via email. To do so:

  1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on the iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup". This will create a backup file containing all of your iPhone contacts
  3. With the file created, tap "Email" to attach it to a new email
  4. Enter your own Gmail address in the "To" field
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. On the Moto G LTE, open the email and download the attached file
  7. Use the "People" app on the Motorola smartphone in order to import the contents of the vCard file

Transferring Contacts through "Send Anywhere":

A second method that doesn't require access to a computer is through "Send Anywhere". This is an iOS and Android application that uses a P2P connection in order to transfer contacts and various other types of files. To use this app for contact transfer:

  1. Visit the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on the Moto G LTE
  2. Go to the App Store and install the app on the iPhone as well
  3. Launch the application on both devices
  4. Switch over to the iPhone, and tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Select the contacts that you want to transfer
  6. Tap "Send"
  7. Finally, select the desired method of transfer. You can select "Generate QR Code" to generate a transfer code that can be scanned with the Moto G LTE's camera, or you can tap "Receive" on the Android device, and enter the transfer code that has been randomly generated on the iPhone
