Backing Up and Restoring Apps:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Mark the check box next to "Back up my data" in order to back up your Wi-Fi passwords, account data and other settings to your Google account
  5. Mark the check box next to "Automatic restore" in order to allow your device to automatically restore the data once you re-install a backed up app

NOTE: All apps will be automatically restored once you sign in with the Google account containing the backup

Backing Up and Restoring Contacts:

  1. Launch the apps drawer and open "Settings"
  2. Tap "Accounts"
  3. Select the account that you wish to use for backing up your contacts
  4. Tap "Menu" and select "Sync now"

NOTE: Your contacts will be automatically restored as soon as you'll sign in with the Google account used for the backup. If the contacts don't get restored, you need to allow the account to sync them with your phone

Backing Up Media Files Using a Computer:

  1. Connect your Moto G LTE to your computer using the USB cable
  2. Tap "Media sync (MTP)" on the smartphone
  3. On the computer, launch a Windows Explorer window and locate the files stored on your smartphone
  4. Copy the desired files, and paste them (back them up) on your computer's HDD
  5. After the files have been transferred, safely disconnect the Moto G by clicking the "Remove Media Storage Device" icon located in the system tray

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your Moto G LTE and computer via USB
  2. On the smartphone, tap "Media sync (MTP)"
  3. On the computer, launch a Windows Explorer window and locate the files backed up on your PC's hard drive
  4. Copy the files and transfer them on your phone's storage
  5. Once the files have been transferred, safely disconnect the Moto G LTE from your computer
