Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Battery Saver”

Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Hotspot:

NOTE: You can prolong your phone’s battery performance by disabling connectivity features when they aren’t in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth.

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” tiles to disable these features
  3. You can change the way GPS works from “Settings” > “Location” > “Mode” > “Battery saving”
  4. To disable Hotspot (if the tile is missing from the status area), go to “Settings” > tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”, tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable “Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot”

Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Brightness level” and adjust (lower) the screen luminosity
  4. Optionally, tap “Adaptive brightness” to disable or enable auto brightness
  5. From the “Display” menu, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

Change App Sync Settings per Account:

NOTE: By syncing less data you can improve your phone’s battery life on the long run

  1. Tap “Apps”
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Accounts"
  4. Select the desired account type
  5. Select an account and clear the check boxes next to the data you no longer want to sync

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some of your third party apps can affect your phone battery performance even when you don’t use them, assuming they run processes in the background. To improve battery life you can disable or remove unused third party apps:

  1. Tap “Apps” > “Settings”
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Apps”
  3. Swipe to the “Downloaded” screen if necessary
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app
  6. To completely remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Go to the “Settings” screen
  2. Under “Wireless & networks” tap “More”
  3. Tap “Mobile Networks” / “Cellular networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and select “2G”
