Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party applications doesn’t work as it should (crashes or freezes) or takes up too much space, you can try fixing these issues by clearing its cache. Furthermore you can try clearing the app’s data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will remove all personal details stored within the app, such as login information, saved games, profiles, credit card information etc. As such you should try clearing the cache first.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloaded” or “All
  4. Select the desired application
  5. Tap “Clear cache” > “OK
  6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK

Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: In case a third party app causes issues on your phone and prevents you from uninstalling it, you can reboot in safe mode and dispose of it from there. In safe mode all third party applications are disabled. To enable safe mode:

  1. Wake up the screen
  2. Press and hold the “Power” button
  3. In the dialog box, tap and hold “Power off
  4. When prompted to enter safe mode, tap “OK
  5. To remove an app in safe mode, go to “Settings” and tap “Apps
  6. Swipe to the “Downloaded” tab
  7. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  8. To exit safe mode, press and hold the “Power” key and reboot your phone as you would do normally

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone is not working correctly and you intend to master reset it, try clearing the cache partition first. This can solve the same issues a factory reset would, without losing any personal data stored on the internal memory. To wipe the cache:

  1. Turn off the phone
  2. Press and hold “Volume Down” and “Power” at the same time
  3. Release the buttons when the display turns on. You should see a menu with blue lines of text
  4. From the menu, press “Volume down / up” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Recovery mode
  5. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option. The next screen should depict an Android robot with an exclamation mark
  6. Press and hold “Power”, then press and release “Volume Up
  7. In the recovery menu, use the volume rocker to highlight “wipe cache partition
  8. Press “Power” to select the option
  9. When prompted to “reboot system now”, press “Power” again and your device should restart with a clear cache partition

NOTE: If clearing the cache did not help, you can visit this thread to learn how you can master reset your phone.
