Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your third party apps doesn’t work as intended or occupies too much space, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the application’s cache. If that fails you can also try clearing the app’s data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will remove all personal details stored within the application. This includes login and credit card information, profiles, saved games etc. As such it’s advised to try and solve the issues by clearing the app’s cache first.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Tap “Apps
  4. Access the “Downloaded” or “All” screen
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Clear cache” > “OK” to confirm
  7. If needed, tap “Clear data” > “OK

Reboot in Safe Mode to Remove an App:

  1. If necessary, wake up the screen
  2. Press and hold the “Power” key
  3. Tap and hold “Power off” in the dialog box
  4. At the safe mode prompt, tap “OK” to reboot your phone
  5. Once the phone reboots you should see a “safe mode” label in the lower-left area of the screen
  6. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu and go to “Apps
  7. Swipe to “Downloaded
  8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
  9. To exit Safe Mode simply press and hold “Power” and reboot your phone as you normally would

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, you might want to clear the cache partition first. This can have similar effects as a factory reset, without losing all the personal data stored on the internal memory. To clear the phone’s cache:

  1. Turn off the X Style
  2. Press and hold “Volume Up” and “Power” simultaneously
  3. When the screen turns on, release all hardware buttons
  4. From the screen with blue lines of text, press “Volume down” or “Volume Up” repeatedly in order to navigate to and highlight “Recovery Mode
  5. Press “Power” to select the option
  6. At the screen depicting an Android with an exclamation mark, press and hold “Power”, then press and release “Volume Up
  7. Once you reach the recovery menu, release all hardware buttons
  8. From Recovery, use the volume rocker to highlight “Wipe cache partition
  9. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  10. At the “Reboot system now” prompt, press “Power” again
