    WARNING! When you master reset your phone, all personal data located on the internal storage (such as downloaded content, ringtones, apps, contacts etc.) will be deleted. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.

    NOTE: Before you master reset the device, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up and restore data on the Moto G Turbo Edition.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open the apps drawer on the home screen
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
    4. Tap “Factory data reset” and assuming that your device is lock screen-protected, enter the PIN / password and proceed
    5. Tap “Reset phone

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

    NOTE: In case can’t reset the phone using the method above, you can try applying the factory reset via Recovery instead. To access the recovery menu and reset the device:

    1. First, turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Volume Down
    3. Next, press and hold “Power
    4. When the first menu appears, release the hardware buttons
    5. Whilst in the menu, use “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Recovery mode
    6. Press “Power” to highlight the selected option
    7. At the “No command” screen, press and hold “Power”, then press “Volume Up
    8. In the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Wipe data / factory reset
    9. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    10. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content
    11. Press “Power” and wait for the device to reset
    12. At the “Reboot system now” prompt, press “Power

    Update the OS:

    NOTE: Once you finish resetting the phone, it’s recommended to check if newer software updates are available. To check for updates:

    1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to “System” and tap “About phone
    3. Tap “System updates
    4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download it
