Using iTunes:
NOTE: With iTunes installed on a computer you can use the app to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data with the Moto X Force.
- Establish a USB connection between your PC and iPhone
- Open iTunes on the computer
- In iTunes, click the iPhone and access the “Info” tab
- Enable “Sync Contacts With”
- Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
- Log in with your Google account, or alternatively click “Configure” and select an existing account
- Click “Apply” to start the sync
- After the sync is done, register the same Google account on the Moto X Force and set it to sync contacts with your device
Using iCloud:
NOTE: If you’ve used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone prior to finding this guide, then the contacts on your Apple phone should already be backed up on your iCloud account. As such, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export them in vCard file format.
- Open the Internet browser on your PC
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Log in with your iCloud account and click “Contacts”
- Choose the contacts you want to share
- Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
- Once the vCard is downloaded, import it via “Google Contacts” or, alternatively:
- Connect the Moto X Force to your PC via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use the “Contacts” app to import its contents
Via “My Contacts Backup”:
NOTE: While the methods above require access to the Internet, you can transfer contacts without one too. My Contacts Backup is a third party app for iOS which can be used to back up and transfer your iPhone contacts via email.
- Launch the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on your iPhone
- Open the application and tap “Backup”
- After the vCard backup file is complete, tap “Email”
- Write a new email containing the vCard as an attachment
- Send the email to your own address
- On the Moto X Force, open the email and download the attached file
- Import the file using “Contacts”
Via “Send Anywhere”:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use for transferring contacts is “Send Anywhere”, on both iOS and Android. The app uses a P2P connection to transfer content without requiring a computer.
- Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on your iPhone
- Visit the Google Play Store and install the app on the Moto X Force
- Open the application on both handsets
- Tap “Send” on the iPhone
- Tap “Contacts” and select the ones you wish to share
- Tap “Send” and select a transfer method, such as “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone, or “Receive” on the Moto X Force
