Sync iPhone Contacts With Google via iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data with the Motorola device.

  1. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
  2. Open iTunes on the PC
  3. Click the iPhone in iTunes and access “Info
  4. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Log in with your Google account, or alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  7. After the sync is complete, switch to the Moto G4 Play, register the same Google account used in iTunes, and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Share iPhone Contacts from an iCloud Account:

NOTE: In case the contacts on your iPhone have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in to your account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and access “Contacts
  4. Select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  6. Once the vCard has been downloaded on the computer, perform one of the following steps:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts”, or:
    • Connect the Moto G4 Play to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import it

Using “My contacts Backup”:

NOTE: While the methods above require access to the Internet, alternatively you can transfer your iPhone contacts using third party apps instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up your iPhone contacts and share them via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap “Backup
  3. After the vCard backup file is done, tap “Email
  4. Write a new email containing the vCard file as an attachment
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. Switch to the Moto G4 Play, open the email and download the attached vCard
  7. Import the vCard using “Contacts

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use for transferring contacts is Send Anywhere, available on Android and iOS. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other file types, cross platform, without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Play Store and install the app on the Moto G4 Play
  3. Open the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send
  6. Select a transfer method, such as “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone, or “Receive” on the Moto G4 Play
