Sync iPhone Contacts with a Google Account Using iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data and contacts with your Motorola phone.

  1. Connect the iPhone to your computer using the Lightning cable
  2. Launch iTunes on the computer
  3. Go to the “Info” section and turn on “Sync Contacts With
  4. Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Sign in with your Google account, or alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  7. After the sync is done, switch to the Motorola Moto M and sign in with the same Google account
  8. Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android device

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in to your account on a computer with an active Internet connection, and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the PC
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Go to “Contacts” and select the desired contacts
  4. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  5. Wait for the vCard to be downloaded on the PC and then follow one of the two steps below:
    • Open the Internet browser on the PC and import the vCard to “Google Contacts”, or:
    • Connect the Moto M to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import it

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the methods above require a computer with an active Internet connection, alternatively you can transfer your iPhone contacts through third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS third party app that can back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard backup file containing your iPhone contacts
  3. Tap “Email” once done
  4. Ensure the vCard backup file is attached to the email and send it to your own address
  5. Switch to the Moto M and open the email
  6. Download the attached vCard and import it using “Contacts

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use on iOS and Android is Send Anywhere. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to transfer contacts and other file types cross-platform without requiring a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Install the same app on the Moto M via the Google Play Store
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send
  6. Lastly, select the desired transfer method, such as tapping “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone or “Receive” on the Moto M. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
